Anthony Agby, Lindsey Seaman, Stephanie Warner English 111 Jennifer Davis 16 November 2005 Smoking Ban For our Multi-Genre Paper, we chose, as our topic, second-hand smoke and its detrimental effects on all who are surrounded by it. The media we chose to present our information is a letter to the editor, a bumper sticker, and a short video. We decided to write a letter to the editor for the newspaper in Oxford so we could impact people in the local area, and get the word out about second-hand smoke and the effects it has on people’s health. In this letter we used information about how smoking affects everyone around the smoker, to persuade the people in Oxford that a ban on smoking in all public places would make Oxford a cleaner, healthier city. Many businesses are against the smoking ban, because they say that it will harm their business. We also approach this topic in the letter and prove that a smoking ban in all public places for city of Oxford would not be harmful to local area businesses. For our next genre we choose to make a bumper sticker. We decided a bumper
