What is the purpose of formal lesson planning for both the students and the
teacher?
Formal lesson planning helps teachers to be reflective in their collaborative lessons through the
daily learning objective on grouping of students, time it takes to complete task, materials needed,
sequencing of the task, and type of strategies through the type of activity. This in return
challenges teachers to be prepared and deliver a structured meaningful lesson. Formal planning
deliver structure to students to be more successful in the assignment and going over the daily
learning goal, students’ know what their objective of learning is and take ownership of their own
learning goal. This in return helps teach core standards and also gives the teacher feedback on
students understanding of the subject area.
Instructor's Comments: It is important that teachers plan for their lessons to ensure that they are
meeting state and national standards, as well as having their materials prepared and meeting students
individual needs with differentiation. It outlines the lesson and allows the teacher to mentally prepare
the activities so delivery can go smoothly and objectives can be assessed. Nice job with your initial

Hello Professor and Classmates,
After examining the syllabus there are actually two topic areas I am looking forward to. I think
that in lesson six seeing the lesson plan come together using both formal and informal
assessment along with standards to increase knowledge and maintain continuous intellectual
development. Then in lesson seven reflecting on those lesson plans seeing what worked and
what areas need adjusting is also a very vital piece to lesson planning collaboration and
reflection of learning goals and objectives .

According to this verse, we are to meditate on the Bible day and night. Class,
how do you make time for devotionals, church, or other spiritual events as
well as your school work?
I do a devotional with a co-worker daily every weekday morning before work. We use a women
of faith devotional book. I also pray with my husband during coffee every morning. It is not
much but it really helps me start my day and stay in a positive state of mind with all the hate
going on in the world. We also listen to sermons on YouTube while we are cooking breakfast on

Saturdays and Sundays. Our churches are still closed here so it is the best we can do. However,
I do love doing that because you can gear it toward what is going on in your life at that time.
