Technical memo To: James Maxin From: Michael Murphy Date: March 17, 2008 Subject: Forces of friction Lab 3 This memo is about lab 3 experiment 2. In this experiment we were test a new toy called the gig’em launcher. It is a football getting launched at and angle by a counter weight of a certain mass. In the memo it talks about the different affects the football’s flight will be with different set ups. It will test how the mass of the counter weight, the angle of the launcher and the distance of the launching pad have an affect on the flight of the football, which will be the main idea of this experiment. Experiment 2 The gig’em launcher This is a diagram of what the gig’em launcher might look like. As you can see there is an adjustable angle at which you can launch from. Also there is the counter weight in which more or less weight can be added to affect the flight of the ball. Another variable is the position in which you can start the ball from, how far down the track will also affect the trajectory of this ball.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
