Paul prays for the churches of Rome. He seeks God’s will that it be to visitthem (1:8-14).A.Paul gives thanks for the churches at Rome and their faith. In each of Paul’sepistles, with the exception of Galatians, Paul expresses thanks to God for theChurch.B.Paul longs to visit Rome to be equally blessed by each others faith. The wrath of God and the loveof God is throughout the Bible. They are inseparable.2.God’s wrath is revealed in the cross of Christ (Matt. 27:46). Not only does thecrucifixion reveal God’s righteousness, it reveals His wrath against sin.3.God’s wrath is revealed in the world. This is the wrath God has towards therejection of the authority of the Bible and the cross.B.The objects of God’s wrath.1.The ungodliness. These are the ones that sin against the being of God.2.The unrighteous. These are the ones that sin against the will of God.C.God’s wrath deserved.1.Because man knew and did not and allowed their flesh to rule and rejectedGod.2.God gave them the passions of the flesh, harming them.D.The condemnation of the moralist. God is impartial. Man cannot judge anotherwhen they are practicing the same sin.1.Only God has the right to judge. He is condemned by his own judgement(2:1).2.Man condemned by God’s judgement (2:2-16).
