TURKEY DOES NOT INDUCE TIREDNESS THE DSM-IV-TR Descriptivive Tool and Diagnostic Guide Multi-axial system o I o II o III o IV o V Not perfect SCHIZOFRENIA Good disorder to cover in terms of the biopsychosocial model ASSESSMENT Tests are typically used to make diagnoses Projective Tests o Hermin Rorschach’s Ink-Blot test o They can’t generate a score o Assumption is that a person’s unconscious thoughts and feelings would be projected by asking the person what first comes to mind when you look at the ink blot o There is no subliminal message or meaning to the ink blot o Very little validity to this method – can’t generate standardized norms based on this – driven entirely by the clinician’s impressions of the subject’s responses o Scientifically, this has very little merit – WIDELY held assumption o They can be useful in establishing – establishing a relationship between clinician and patient. Strength – These tests could strengthen the relationship between clinician and patient. o
