The Aztecs and the neighboring empires, however, resented the emperor's frequent demands for tribute and victims for religious sacrifice.
-When Spanish Conquistador Hernán Cortés arrived in 1519, Montezuma was held by the Spaniards as captive in his own palace.-In 1520, the Aztecs turned against their own emperor for not resisting the Conquistadors lead by Cortes, and he was killed soon after. The Aztec Empire came to an end.- 1521: Cortes the conqueror of Aztecs and Mexico-Hernando Cortes (1485- 1547) – Spanish Conquistador and explorer who defeated the Aztec Empire and claimed Mexico and Peru for the Spanish crown.-Giovanni da Verrazano (1485-1528):-Lyons, France-killed in the Caribbean by nave of Guadaloupe in 1528-Verrazzano’s Voyage: 1524-18thcentury: limited to individuality.
