Study Guide Study Guide Exam III.doc Page 1 Overall : This is the one area in which I want you to know the important experiments, who did them, and the names of the chemists or physicists who made important contributions and what those contributions were. Terms: Know the impact of the Rutherford experiment and be able to answer questions similar to those in your homework. Chapter 7 Light Equations you must know: ν = c λ Δ E = h = hc For the other equations in the chapter you need to be able to use them correctly but they will be given to you as you need them. You will also be given constants you need like the speed of light and Plank’s constant. You do need to be able to go between different wavelength units such as m, cm, μ m, Quantum theory
