The HP-OIT is not acommon lesl, is expensive, has a longer testing time (up to300 minutes), special testing cell and set up is required, andis specific for some OIT values (it can't delect short OITvalues).CONCLUSIONSome considerations about photodegradation of HDPEgeomembrane. MFI and OIT tests were presented. Resultsof MFI and OIT after UV geomembrane exposure wereevaluated to delect oxidative degradation.MFI test showed some levels of superficial degradation(crosslink) in HDPE geomembranes. Although MFI is aqualitative test it may be an indicative that the degradationalready started and what kind of phenomenon is occurring(crosslink or chain scission).
