The Growth of Telehealth Services Among Older AdultsTechnology today provides many opportunities for older adults to maintain theirindependence and stay connected to the world (Pierce & Steiner, 2018). Common chronicdiseases among older adults require ongoing medical attention and management. According toMarkert et al., (2021) “the census bureau projects that the US population aged 65 or older willgrow from 49 million in 2016 to 95 million by 2060 and ninety percent of these older adultsprefer to age in place”. Telehealth is a way to effectively manage chronic conditions among olderadults while allowing them to live and stay at home. Telehealth enables virtual visits with healthcare professionals for ongoing care. The COVID-19 pandemic increased the use of telemedicineservices and served as an opportunity to evaluate current healthcare delivery systems whileadapting to the current needs of healthcare (Markert et al., 2021). Further, the pandemichighlighted the necessity of understanding the integration and effectiveness of telehealthsystems in the older adult population (Hawley et al., 2020).
