Running head: ALLIANCE SUPERMARKET AND POINT-OF-SALEBELL 1Alliance Supermarket and Point-of-Sale (POS) SystemsDenise BellInstructor Ashford UniversityAlliance Supermarket and Point-of-Sale (POS) Systems
Bell 2The POS (point-of-sale) is a popular system that companies use, that is an effective way of tracking inventory. Since technology is such a huge deal nowadays, this system fits perfectly into the tech-savvy world that we live in now. Point of sale (POS), is the point where the transaction takes place. High end of large inventory companies also use UPC. This is a number that uniquely identifies eh product of which it appears (Vonderembse). I would think that all companies use this type of product recognition, but it is not true. Alliance Supermarket is a company that uses both of these methods, the POS and UPC, which has greatly improved the company’s ability to replenish inventory promptly, but the company still has some problems (Vondermbse).
