Class Notes 16/10/2007 14:33:00 Virgin and Child with Saints Well modeled face of the child and it has been said that it was based on the  baby figure of Alexander Christ-child is very three dimensional like the angels None of the two dimensional figures are looking at the viewer The saints are pictured to be very flat and are the only ones looking at the  viewer Hot-wax technique used which allowed the blending of the colors with the  result of the three dimensional figures The eyes of the saints are meant to be the transmitters of the prayers The saints are made to be abstract so that the viewer realizes that they are  just images not the actual people being prayed to Rabbula Gospels, Crucifixion. Syria Christ crucifixion Three different incidents in time are shown Probably was once on a scroll Some people believe that the image tries to show the topography of where
