Concert Report #2 I attended the Chamber Orchestra concert on November 15, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. I was surprised as to how many people were attending the concert, and was lucky enough to get the last seat. The double bass was my favorite instrument in the orchestra, and the way the musicians played it reminded me of a saw. I could even hear a sawing sound coming from one of the double bass players. The first piece played was Chopin’s Nocturne No. 2 in F minor. The first movement, Maestoso included a lot of dynamics. The pianist seemed very into the music. The song reminded me of love. While the pianist played, the orchestra was pianissimo and legato. The percussion used a lot of tremolo and had a crescendo as they did it. The second movement, Larghetto , was full a lot of emotion, as if from the heart. It was a very beautiful piece. The piano had a lot of scale steps, while the violin used tremolo and the double base used pizzicato.
