Concert Report #1 I attended the A Cappella Choir Concert on October 23, 2007. When I first walked through the doors of Cole Concert Hall I thought it was strange to see three music stands and a harpsichord sitting in front of the risers; seeing as A Cappella means without accompaniment. The uniforms the choir wore looked very professional When the choir stepped onto the risers to sing Est Dies Trophei , I thought it was strange that they stood in a boy-girl pattern instead of by sections by voice part. There were two flutes, a bassoon, and a harpsichord playing with the choir. This reminded me of a recital. Each voice part had a soloist, which was very beautiful. My favorite was the bass soloist. He had a very full rich voice. The soloist also sang in a lot of scale patterns. They sped up the tempo and the soloist had a duet with the choir. At the end of the song, the sections sang in cannon.
