Olympus Mystery religions: - Cult of Dionysus (rebirth, theater) - Offered salvation and hope - Spring festivals – Greek theatre was born Homer: - believed he was born in Asia minor - basis of Greek education - all youth would be required to know him - basis of Greek law; precedent for court cases
