POLICY MEMORANDUM TO: ALL EMPLOYEES FROM: CEO OF JACOBS ENTERPRISES, INC. SUBJECT: WORKPLACE SURVEILANCE DATE: APRIL 12, 2015 Abstract –  Jacobs Enterprises, Inc. (herein “the company”) is a trusted steward of  employee and client electronic data, and has many technical solutions in service both internally  and with external partners. Understanding that “When large amounts of data are stored in  electronic form, they are vulnerable to many more kinds of threats than when they existed in  manual form. Through communications networks, information systems in different locations are  inter-connected. The potential for unauthorized access, abuse, or fraud is not limited to a single  location but can occur at any access point in the network” (Laudon & Laudon, 2014, p. 295). It is  therefore important that the company express, in advance, the minimum standards, actions, and  expectations of the company, its employees, contractors, and others (herein an “employee”) who  may be issued electronic devices, services, and/or internal access. Further, the company intends to express protective measures implemented and maintained in order to sustain a safe and  appropriate workplace. Policy –  Company technical resources are provided to assist employees in their specific  work efforts, during their tenure, who agree to act in a professional, considerate, and responsible  manner. Employees are responsible for the security and maintenance of their company issued  equipment. These items may include, but are not limited to computers, laptops, slates, cellphones, PDAs, connectivity equipment, all software and hardware, intellectual capital, data, and the use  thereof (herein “technical resources”). To that end, the company will be implementing and  maintaining proper technical surveillance and monitoring practices for all technical resources.

All voicemail, email, facsimile and all other communications, within or through the  company’s electronic networks, as well as communications and information sent, received, or  stored via the Internet, Intranet and data stored on any/all company equipment are the sole and  exclusive property and responsibility of the company. It is the company’s policy that these
