Astronomy 309 Gebhardt Homework 2 1. The idea that the Large Hadron Collider will cause a massive black hole is absurd for many reasons. For one, there are similar collisions in our earths atmosphere all the time, so if there would be a black hole it would have already happened. Another reason is because it is almost impossible because the odds are so small that they are negligible. 2.
