The Cost of A Barrel of Oil The cost is near $100 per barrel. Unexpectedly oil costs seemed to increase after we invaded Iraq. Once Iraq is a stable democracy maybe they will give us a good deal on oil. This could be a way for them to pay us back. Iran and Saudi Arabia have a lot of oil. Mysteriously they seem to be sending fighters and weapons to the Iraqi insurgency. All the U.S. tanks, planes and ships guzzle 340,000 barrels of oil a day, making the American military the single-largest purchaser and consumer of oil in the world. U.S. Imports And Exports Exports send dollar$ to the U.S. Imports send dollar$ to importing countries.

Life is good! • We can save it or spend it. • Apparently we don’t save a lot. • Makes you wonder if our living costs exceed our disposable income....
