PRACTICUM PROJECT2Consumer buying behavior can be described as the process by which customers maketheir decisions on what they want to buy and the actions that they undertake when buying andusing products and services. The main reason why it is important to understand consumer buyingbehavior is that it helps a business understand why the customers make the decisions that they doregarding a purchase. It also helps to understand the different factors that affect consumerpurchases as well as seek to shine a light on other changing factors such as emerging trends.With the understanding of consumer buying behavior, Stop and Shop supermarket will be able tounderstand and predict the buyers’ reactions to a certain marketing strategy. This will help thembe able to develop great marketing strategies that will relate to the consumer's behavior. Thesupermarket can, therefore, gain major success with these strategies. Stop and Shop supermarketwill also be able to come up with the best marketing mixes that cater to different customer needswhich will help them to reach a bigger crowd than a single strategy would have. The ability topredict the consumer’s reaction will allow the supermarket to make strategic plans that willincrease its selling advantage (Quester, 2007).
