Raymond Collins Compañia Nacional de Danza 2 Emio Greco was an enjoyable dance that seemed to tell a story. There were three distinct parts of the dance that made me feel this way. The beginning of the dance continued directly from the preshow. As the audience entered the smoke filled Campbell Hall, a woman stood at the front of the stage with her back to the audience. She had long curly hair that played a large part in all of her movements during the dance. The woman flapped her arms like she was a bird. This gave me the feeling that she was trying to fly away. Next she started reaching high and stretching her body to be as tall as she could. Then she would quickly jerk her body down. These movements made me feel like she was reaching for a goal or things were going well in her life, and then suddenly she would get shut down. Then, to end this segment, the music stops simultaneously as she falls to the ground lifelessly. I felt that this was a major travesty in her life that set her back. The continued upreaching followed by jerky downward movements and falling made me feel that despite these
