Effective Communication in the WorkplaceThere are many effects in the workplace regarding communication, whether intentional orunintentional. The effect can either go in the communicator’s favor or could easily be a miscommunication and not be taken how they intended it to be perceived. Effective Communication is what all communicators wish to accomplish: communication that produces the desired effect or result (Hersey). The goal of communication is to convey meaning and information between people (Hersey). Effective communication generates the desired effect, maintains effect & increases effect (Hersey). Effective communication serves its purpose for which it was planned or designed (Hersey). The purpose of effective communication is to generate an action, be informative, create understanding or communicate a certain idea or point. Effective communication also makes sure that message is clear during the communication process. In this essay I will describe a time when I experienced effective communication the workplace.Effective Communication: Acknowledging the Areas of the WorkplaceI work in a dental office as an Office Manager, I will not name the place of business.
