PSYCHOLOGY 0105 EXAM #3 STUDY GUIDE SPRING 2008 The third exam will be the same length as the previous two exams (including the five bonus questions), although in this case you will have two hours to complete it. When studying, remember once again to take an active approach – look away from your notes and the text and try to explain what you have read and heard in your own words. Take advantage of the student website – particularly the learning objectives and sample exam questions. Study the learning objectives from the lectures (listed below) together with the learning objectives from the chapters. As always let us know if you have any questions at all, and good luck! Learning Objectives: Attraction and Relationships How are proximity, mere exposure, and similarity related to liking? What are some examples? How is physical attractiveness related to liking, and what are the benefits/costs of attractiveness? What makes a face physically attractive? How do ethologists explain physical attraction? How are insults and clumsiness related to how much we like another person? How does the Dutton and Aron “Bridge” study illustrate misattribution of arousal? What is some of the evidence highlighting the importance of personal relationships?
