Evans Andrew W. Evans 3/03/08 CSC341 What is a Computer Professional? Since the revolution of computers over the past several years, jobs in the computer industry have since increased and many new jobs have been created. To say a good computer professional is similar to a double negative because a professional is one who is highly efficient in his/her job and performs at a professional business level. They are able to maintain a professional attitude while following ‘the code’. The code is not here nor there but rather the values of ethics that others who are not computer professionals strive for. The code is said to be a general consensus of what is right and wrong when pertaining to the computing world. Those individuals, who simply read the ethical code, will never be successful in their careers because they are not able to live the code as true computer professionals do. Jobs in which a computer professional is needed require a much higher education level and specialized skills that are not taught but rather skills that are developed over
