Abstract The Electrolytes Challenge Research: Sport Drink companies make many claims for the benefits’ of their product. One of the most important facts is the ability of the beverage to replenish the body with electrolytes, which the body loses as you exercise. Or do natural fruit juices like orange juice work just as well to replace lost elec- trolytes? Electrolytes are a salt & a substance that dissociate into ions in a solution. These ions give the capacity to conduct electricity. Electrolytes, such as Sodium and Potassium, are present in sweat. Other electrolytes that are important are Calcium, Chloride, and Phosphate. The proper amount Electrolytes in our blood is essential to our health. The difference in the concentration of sodium and potassium inside and outside the cell allows your nerves and muscle fibers to send electric impulses. The body has a homeostatic mechanisms which maintains the correct balance of the absorption, distri- bution, and excretion of water and dissolved electrolytes. This body process needs a concentration of various electrolytes in its fluids within a narrow range. In this experiment, I will use a multimeter to measure the electrolytes. A multimeter is a tool that mea- sures voltage (V), current (I), and Resistance(R). I will only used the ammeter part of the multimeter for this experiment. The ammeter measures current. The ammeter was used to measure the concentration

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
