Cait I am answering these as if the questions had been numbered. 1. Sometimes the media exaggerates the aging process through some of the images that are used. Today older people in general are enjoying a higher quality of life and health but frequently the emphasis in the media is on the extremes. I have not experienced discrimination per se but I have felt patronized by some based on a perception of being incapable of doing some things because of my age. 2. I and my doctor would rate my health as good. I try to stay healthy by maintaining a good diet, exercise, and a spiritual base upon which I try to make decisions and live daily. Being actively engaged in things that continue to challenge my mind and body are important. 3. I cannot say that I have noticed any real difference in memory; however, I think we live in a time in which the flood of information and demands can impact what is meaningful to remember. I have always been a list maker to help me stay focused and this has not changed with time. 4.
