Marketing Research Study Guide for Exam 1 One of the following questions will be part of the essay section of the exam. When a question asks for you to “ discuss, define ” or “ describe ” an issue that means you need to elaborate above and beyond a bulleted item from class. A fantastic way to show me you really understand something is to give an example to reinforce the point. To answer these questions you should rely on notes from class, the book and all other materials used in the course. The study guide will also help you with the multiple-choice section of the exam but is not meant to act as a substitute for knowing the book, lecture notes, or other material. In order to excel on the multiple-choice section of the exam you must thoroughly know the book, notes from class and other reading(s). Do not rely solely on this hand-out as a studying device. Essay Questions – One will be selected for the exam. 1) Why is marketing research important? Discuss four reasons why marketing research is important. In particular, make sure one of these addresses the relationship between the marketing concept and marketing research. 2) Using the frameworks presented in class, what are some of the key areas you might investigate when doing a marketing research project. What type of questions and issues might you address? Thoroughly discuss these issues and demonstrate how you can use the frameworks and information from class to conduct a marketing research project for
