1Electrolux Cleans UpA Case StudyFlorida Institute of Technology
2This case study discusses the innovative techniques one company, Electrolux, implemented to reform their company (Ivancevich et al, 2014). When Hans Straberg became theChief Executive of Electrolux in 2002 he made dramatic changes to the company starting with shutting plants in Western Europe and the United States down and moving the work to lower costing plants in Asia and Eastern Europe and breaking off the outdoor products division. Straberg also gathers employees including designers, engineers, and marketers from different divisions as well as top executives in innovation from other companies to brainstorm to come up with new products. This groupthink method saves time and money for the company by avoiding technical glitches between departments. Their research methods in the company have also changed from traditional methods to interviewing people in their homes. Overall, by Electrolux making some radical changes in the company, they were able to drastically improve the business.
