Chapter 1: - “Christian Ethics are grounded in Christian theology, the study of God. Since our  Christian behavior is inspired by and rooted in our relationship with God, we should be  able to determing some elements of Christian ethics from the nature of God, as revealed  in scripture. Even when the Bible doesn’t prescribe specific behavior, we can still model  our lives as God describes” - Rely on God rather than material possessions; What God says goes - Money should not be made from the degradation of people or form the devaluation of  human life - Individual ownership of property is acceptable; encourages stewardship o No perpetual rights; everything belongs to God - Stewardship should benefit family, community, future generations o God holds everyone accountable - People tend to seach for security in material possessions, control of nature and power
