 Blayre Meligan                                                                                  October 20, 2005       Period 6 Hunting                   It’s always in the news.  A protest held by the animal rights  activists is a recurring reminder to everybody in America on where  they stand on the issue of hunting.  They argue that hunting is  inhumane and should be made illegal.  The problem with that is that  hunting is a part of life.  It always has been and always will be.  In  years past, hunting was one of the only means of survival.  Survival  meaning a necessity in life.  Hides were used for clothing.  The meat,  a source of nourishment.  In the days of the Indians, how many times  were hides used for shelter, clothing, blankets, bedding material,  flooring for teepees, and shoes? The activists who argue that it is inhumane to hunt obviously do
