Sarah Shelden LAI 350 – Introduction to Education Observation Paper 7 In a 9 th grade biology class I observed a teacher who reviewed over the previous lab, taking time to go over each answer. He informed the class that he would be going over this lab because so many people had trouble and that it is one of the required labs on the New York State Standards. He went in depth and explained what each question was explicitly asking and taught the students how exactly you would go about finding the answer. He occasionally asks questions and a few students consistently answer. After the teacher finishes reviewing he hands out a new lab and instructs the students to read the directions and get started. The teacher then takes the rest of the period to do work and grade assignments. The student teacher meanwhile, circles the room checking students work as they go and answering any questions people have. Once some students finish up, the teacher says they have free time to do what they want and encourage anyone with
