Despite the actually small percentage of people known as Jews, their contributions to society, throughout history, have been immense. Max I. Dimont gives a deep look on the various knowledge and ideas brought forth by Jews, and shows us the true significance of these ideas as we see how the Jewish religion has stood the test of time despite many possible set backs. Dimont also gives insight on the various ways of viewing history itself and further incorporates how many viewpoints do not fully incorporate the lasting plight of the Jews. . IV. 1. The influences the Jews and Jewish religion have had on Eastern and Western civilizations have been immeasurable. “The Jews successfully introduced such concepts as prayer, church, redemption, universal education, charity.” (Dimont 87) Such ideas that are taken for granted now, but were far beyond their own era when first introduced.
