Article Title Article Objective Main Public Health Principle, Concept, or Theory 1 D.C Parents Push for Recess The article talks about how physical activity can help a child. The parents believe it can keep them more focused and prevent obesity. Parents believe children should have more time for recess. This article focuses on the community health aspect of the socioeconomic model. Recess is an issue with community schools. 2 F.D.A. Finds 12% of U.S. Spice Imports Contaminated Spices from India have shown a contamination of salmonella. The government is thinking about regulating spices. The FDA has been working with this problem for years now and there is slight improvement but not by much. This article also deals with the community as well as the health of individuals in the country. This theory can also relate to the socioeconomic theory as well. 3 Measles outbreak tied to Texas megachurch sickens 21 Measles outbreak in Texas affected 21 people. The church is advocating no immunization but the issue is that it can spread and affect the rest of the community. This article deals with the community and individual health of people. This concept deals with public health and immunization, which is a big issue of concern in America. 4 Posters on Teenage Pregnancy Draw Fire The posters are made to help with teenage pregnancy. However, people argue that the posters are doing everything else but preventing teenage pregnancy. They believe it is showing negative associations. This article relates to the government and community. The government is letting pregnancy posters to be posted across the nation without realizing the effects it will have on the public, especially the negative ones.
