Unformatted text preview: Samantha Smith Politics and Poker March 5, 2008 Emotional Intelligence On February 26, 2008, one of the final Democratic debates took place in Ohio. Both candidates, Clinton and Obama, were ready for a grueling two hours of questions, disagreements, and tactful debate. Were both candidates, however, ready to use their emotions to entice voters and get their point across? Emotional Intelligence plays a large role in being able to conduct oneself properly in specific situations. During the debate, both candidates will reveal how much they know about their own emotions and how much they are willing to control. Obama and Clinton both have a very casual approach about them. Neither are hot- heads and neither get so angry or frustrated as to start screaming and pointing fingers. Clinton is almost also calm, yet bold with her statements as well as her attacks.
