HR Training and Development in the Restaurant Industry
For this assignment, I chose to further explore the human resource practice of training
and development and connect my work experiences in this specific field. I believe that training
and development are some of the most important human resource practices for a company to pay
real close attention to. Through this practice of training and developing your employees, it
enables the company to shape the employees in a way that steers them toward accomplishing the
company’s goals. If a company finds a way to master this practice they will be able to create
better and more loyal employees.
Being a college student, I have not had any professional level of training with a large
company, however, through my work experience in the restaurant industry I have been through
many types of training. The restaurant I have previously worked at is a fancy Italian restaurant
with a wide variety of food options. By working at this restaurant, it made me realize how crucial
the training courses are to having success with the company. When working at this restaurant,
you are required to know in great detail the foods we have to offer, to name a few we had to
