“This I Believe Essay” I believe that with hard work come tremendous results. Growing up always being an “underdog”, if you will, having to push myself to my limits was something I thought I was relatively used to. Whether it be in the classroom, in a uniform, or the expectations of friends and family, I didn’t seem to live up to my full potential despite feeling like I was doing a good enough job. That was always me; the kid being okay with just “getting by”. I started to realize I wasn’t living up to what I could have been in the aspects of my active life when I went out for the high school cross country team my sophomore year. I did distance running in junior high for the social aspect of it. All of my friends were on the team and I goofed around in practice. On the high school team, I also did it for the social aspect of it but knew not to screw around or else more miles were headed my way. I joined the team in August and had my first race in just a month. I busted my butt in practice and ended up
