Won’t be asked on test 3) What are the three ways EMR can interact with matter, and which of these ways is generally most important to remote sensing? Transmitted Absorbed Reflected (Most Important) 4) What is an atmospheric window? EMR Bandwidths that have high transmissions through the atmosphere 5) What is the definition of spectral signature? Amount of energy reflected from an object for each wavelength 6) What is the difference between active a passive sensors? Active sensors emit their own EMR and reflect it back Passive sensors uses what is already in the enviornment 7) What is spatial resolution, and would you see more detail with a small or large spatial resolution?
