Spiritual Walk: Specificity 1 Corinthians 12:12, 26 “The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body…If one part suffers, every part suffers with it. If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.” The body is one o The body recognizes the other parts and their necessity to the whole body No body part is useless o Everyone serves a purpose in God’s kingdom o Some parts do different things, that are essential for the body’s overall function The body helps in healing itself o Christians have the gift of edifying others and encouraging those who struggle (everyone) o The body accepts and supports other parts when they return to the body Matthew 21:18-19 18 “Early in the morning, as he was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. 19 Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves.” The fig tree was not serving its purpose and therefore useless o It’s gift and only purpose in life was to bear fruit, in which it failed
