Tim Thyne BIBL 102.04 S. Johnson Essay 2 As Eberhard is making the comparison between Agape love and Eros love, I can almost touch my inability to love perfectly. He puts it so powerfully “Agape seeks and demands nothing for itself because it lives completely in the object of its love” (19). It is so far from my experience and actions towards others. Especially in college, it is easy to get caught up in the hustle of the semester without thinking much about people, at all! I can remember a time last semester when I spent a majority of my time in the library working on a big project, and then caught up on sleep instead of going to a service activity that I had committed to. Now, everyone needs rest, but the err was I was only considering myself. I was not allowing God to work in me in a way for me to love my neighbor. I enjoy Eberhard’s descriptions of love, because it feels like a big pillow to rest my entire being, knowing that this is the love that my creator pours out over me. He does
