Course Description This course offers the student an opportunity to master certain historical and cultural facts about  the life and teachings of Jesus as presented in the four gospels.  Prayerful and critical reflection  will be given to what each of the four gospel writers seeks to convey about his unique  understanding of the life and teachings of Jesus.  By personally studying the biblical text, listening  to others, and being confronted with thought provoking questions, the student may experience a  new or a renewed affective appreciation for the life and teachings of the Son of God. Course Objective The key objective of this course is to provide an opportunity for discovery into the  meaning of Jesus and his ministry while seeking meaningful applications of these insights  in contemporary situations today. Competencies Measurements  DESCRIPTION  OF  REQUIREMENTS    …gain a solid knowledge of the  various literary tools and how  they are used in historical  analysis and artistic criticism of  the four gospels. …Three major  exams, class  discussions, and a  final exam. …Three tests and a final  exam will evaluate the  student’s knowledge of the  various literary tools and  their skills in applying  historical analysis and  artistic criticism of each  New Testament gospel.    …compare and contrast main  content of each of the four New  Testament gospels and  demonstrate a clear  understanding of each  evangelist’s unique interpretation  of the subject Jesus.
