HP case solution - The idea of supplying generic printers...

This preview shows page 1 - 2 out of 2 pages.

The idea of supplying generic printers to the Europe DC and integrating the product by packaging the power supply and the instruction maual at the DC just prior to delivery to the European sellers is something that is definitely worth looking into and potentially investing in. There are several reasons for this. 1. The printer industry is highly competitive: this means that should HP lose their grip on their current clients, there are many other companies the clients can go to. For this reason, HP should try to keep their clients as happy as possible. 2. “Resellers want to carry as little inventory as possible”, which consequently, puts pressure onto HP to provide high levels of availability at the DC. As a result, management stocked the DCs so high level of availability is maintained. 3. As a result of simply maintaining high availability while limiting inventory throughout the DC supply chain, “it has become common to have product shortanges for model demands from some countries, while invetory of other models keep piling up”.
