Since the beginning of history the human race has been in competition. First it started off as a fight for survival, but today it seems like the battle has moved on past survival to something more trivial; status. In America a war has been waged ever since the European explorers first set foot in the “New World”. White conquistadors came to the Americas in search of the “Three G’s”: God, Glory, and Gold. What the white conquistadors did not realize was that the moment they stepped foot on the sandy beaches of the New World they sparked a war that would rage on for centuries after they were gone. The war that started off between the white Europeans and the Natives is still raging, but not with guns and swords, but rather words and legislature. As more and more Europeans came to the New World the percentage of natives in America kept decreasing. Soon White settlers heavily outnumbered the natives. The white settlers did not waste any time and instantly began oppressing the new minority. So began the power struggle between the white majority and the minorities of the Americas, a struggle that still exists today. For a long time the White European Majority did in fact oppress the minority groups that came to America and in some ways they still do today. Just as a brief reminder of
