HRMN 302 Dr. Sandra HarrisAndres NaranjoINTERCUTURAL COMMUNICATIONIt is very important to understand the concept of Intercultural competence. Intercultural competence helps people to adapt to work with people from different cultures.
INCA Survey Results. My results for Communicative awareness were eight points. According to the Intercultural competence table having an eight indicates full level of communicative awareness. According to the table it says that people that posses this quality are alert to the many ways in which misunderstanding might arise through differences in speech, gestures and body language. I agree since I do pay a lot of attention to what other culturessay or the movement of their body to make sure I don’t misunderstand what they communicate. My results for Knowledge discovery were five points. I have an intermediate level. People that have a high level in this area try to go ahead and research about other cultures before meeting with them. I agree since I would not start my research before meeting new places or people. I will wait until I meet people from other cultures and thenstart to adapt to their ways of living and acting. My results for Respect for otherness were eight points. I have a high level here however I do not always agree and share other cultures beliefs and actions. I have completely respected for their beliefs, but I like to show my point of view even though I will not change their point of view.My results for Empathy were seven points. Seven means an Intermediate level. It says that people with high empathy know how to read and understand other people feelings. I agree however not all the time I’m able to read other people feelings. Normally, my girlfriend has to explain to me what other people are feeling so I can understand.
My results for Tolerance of Ambiguity were six points. It is one of my lower scores. However I disagree with this score. I like to encounter unusual and unexpected issues. I also like to be the one that finds the solution for them.My results for Behavioral flexibility were seven points. I also think this should be and eight or nine. I tend to adopt other people’s customs and courtesies. I tend to adapt faster to new places or things. In conclusion I agree with most parts of the INCA survey. I consider this a very helpful too to know how people interacts with other cultures. I think we have to be open to work with people from other cultures. At the end people that know more things from different cultures are the ones that will be able to succeed while working in groups.

The photos were of a three-month-old infant. The teacher commented that the baby was very cute. Then the teacher noticed that the baby was in a coffin and, after a pause, commentedthat the baby had died. The woman said yes, and then the teacher asked her a few more questions about the child. The teacher was surprised. This group of students had been
