LABU2060: Business Writing VILABU2060 Lesson 2.13 Task 4: Putting it all together as a business planExcerpt 1- Three-rus is a social enterprise with an ingenious idea of collecting ugly fruits and vegetablesand embellishing them into appetizing juice. We witness a severe burden of food waste in landfills.Meanwhile, there is a thriving trend of healthier eating. For this reason, we strive to connect thetwo inspirations by retrieving the nutritious value form ugly food and re-injecting it back topeople’s diet. Three-rus is more than helping health-conscious individuals; we also plan to targetunderprivileged communities who are especially lacking in adequate nutrition. Our business isfinancially sustainable by selling our juice in a physical store located in North Point. We believe byan investment of HKD$700,000, we can embark on our innovative journey.Excerpt 2The simple flow of Three-rus’ operation is from supply, via processing, to delivery. Speaking ofsupply, we eliminate the liaison with supermarkets as the ugly food has been sorted out beforereaching the selves. We plan to rely on three supply channels:1.Food Waste Recycling Partnership SchemeThe scheme is led by the Environmental Protection Department (2012). It serves as acredible access to the market with certification and a platform to attract private household donors.2.Collaborating with existing social enterprises and leveraging on their food supplyThrough negotiation, we hope to collect their food for free and contribute our juice to thecharities these social enterprises are targeting on. This is a win-win solution.3.Collecting the leftovers from local markets at an extremely low priceFor example, North Point and Tseung Kwan O market, which are closest to our juice bar. Thisserves as a backup plan when demand is higher than supply. Not only can we stimulate hawkers’businesses, but also encourage them to make a social impact with us.Speaking of processing, our business is in the form of a physical store, ‘Three-rus juice bar’,located in North Point. The benefits of this location are low rent and away from other competitiveregions in terms of juice bar and charitable work. We will have basic amenities such as juiceprocessors and fridges. Besides offering take-away juice, we would plan to allocate 3-4 bar tablesinside the store. Finally, we would hire 3-4 in-store staff members to process the juice and sellthem to our customers.Concerning delivery, we promise to give 60% of our daily juice production to charities, whosupport the homeless and the low-income families. We plan to affiliate with existing charitable

Because of this, we have threeproposed distribution channels:1.Hiring 1-2 additional staff members to be responsible for such delivery dutyAfter the processing in the morning, they would deliver several carts of juice in the afternoonon alternate day basis.
