Amy Gersten, Ian Michels-Slettvet, Gawon Shin From: Jacqueline Blodgett Subject: Group Work Progress Report Our group did a paper on digital literacy, and included computer tools and services used by the University of Washington and its students. The goal for this paper was to make and support a claim that the University of Washington requires its students to perform a large amount of online and computerized activities in order to become professionals who can meet the demand of the increasingly internet-based workforce. We did this by each exploring a different online tool used by students and writing about that in further detail. These topics included Google search engine, Podcasts, online classes and Catalyst Web Tools. My role in the group paper was to write about the educational benefits of Catalyst Web Tools at the University of Washington.
