The emphasis in thiscourse will be on describing, organizing, and making conclusions and inferences from quantitative information using bothdata-analytic and graphical techniques. The course will also cover methods and procedures for determiningappropriateness of different types of statistical analyses.Textbook: N. A. Weiss (2010).Introductory Statistics (9thed.).Pearson Addison-Wesley. (ISBN-10: 0321691229). StudentSolutions Manual is strongly recommended. The textbook includes a disk which has materials that will enhance yourlearning and will be helpful in doing homework assignment and extra credit problems.Grading:Midterm (2) @ 100 points eachHomework & Attendance25 pointsFinal200 pointsExtra Credit15 pointsCourse Web Site:Midterm and Final are closed book exams. You may bring with you the Formula/Table Card in the textbook (detach itfrom the textbook) and you will be permitted to bring a single page (8-1/2 by 11) of notes to assist you during theMidterm, and two pages of notes for the Final. The Final will be cumulative. Exams will cover materials from lectures,readings, homework, etc. Some questions will be straight forward while others will require you to integrate what you’velearned. Bring pen/pencil and calculator to exams. A simple calculator is required.
