Cho 1 Sally Eunah Cho Hidalgo Scandinavian R5B 4 August 2014 Secondary Source Review 1. The name of the article is Northern Arts: The Breakthrough of Scandinavian Literature and Art, from Ibsen to Bergman by Arnold Weinstein. It was published in 2008 by Princeton University and so the article is a credible secondary source. 2. The primary argument of the article demonstrates how Hunger represents Hamsun’s entry into literature, but remains one of the most impudent novels of the nineteenth century that challenges limits and constraints in areas including physiological, moral, and linguistics inscribed in the year 1848 and the need for freedom. 3. Weinstein utilizes numerous quotes from the novel Hunger and does a close reading on all the quotes that he chooses. By using a writing style that is interesting and easy to read, the author provides strong concrete evidence to prove his argument. He seems to provide very detailed analysis on whatever topic he talks about like how the narrator throws up all the time and gives a very thought provoking idea on the issue. Therefore, Weinstein
