Professor Hong Management 27 April 2015 IP Team Analysis Paper At first, my IP team’s process would have trouble maintaining deadlines, meeting up consistently and getting along with each other well. However, time, experience, and methods learned in management have allowed us to grow substantially as a team. In the beginning of the semester, management taught us about the 6 pillars of deterring conflict. Although we tried to implement those methods to have a smooth and productive team, it took time to adjust and establish consistency. An example of this is that sometimes we would focus too much on humor or put off a lot of work to focus on work besides the IP project. As the semester went on, we all began to realize how much this project meant to us in the long run and a realization of the expectations we had for each other. Expectations could actually hurt performance in the group as seen by the concept of the self- fulfilling prophecy, but through deliberation it actually allowed the group to grow.
