Charisma (Part II) III. Dimensions of Charisma A. Credibility - B. Similarity – How they are like you…perceived similarity. 1. Background Similarity – Perceived as coming from the same background…same part of the country…same family situation. 2. Attitude Similarity – The person shares important attitudes; core attitudes. People that have charisma share attitudes with us. 3. Optimal Similarity – Opinion leaders are people that shape our opinions. Different in terms of their competency (a certain subject). They are similar as you but have certain knowledge of something. Seem like us in attitude and mind but differ in their subjects. C. Attraction – Three kinds 1. Task Attraction – Fun to work with. 2. Social Attraction – How fun the person is to hang and party with. 3. Physical Attraction - Physical Attraction 1. Perceived – Perception…not a reality. Its what you see someone as. Physical appearance is perception. 2.
