Identifying Signs of Drug Use
When it comes to diagnosis and treatment of a drug abuse patient, the health care team
must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the signs, symptoms, dangers, process, and
treatment that the patient must follow in order to help the patient and get their life back on track.
Medical professionals have an important role to play in screening their adolescent
patients for drug use, providing brief interventions, referring them to substance abuse treatment
if necessary, and providing ongoing monitoring and follow-up. Screening and brief interventions
