POLS 1110 American Politics UNC Charlotte Dr. Jason Giersch [email protected] Office Hours: 11-12 Tuesday & Thursday Fretwell 450C Fall 2014 - Hybrid This course is 50% online and 50% lecture. Section 001 Lectures 12:30-1:45 Thursdays Fretwell 100 Section 003 Lectures 12:30-1:45 Tuesdays Fretwell 100 How this class operates: Each week you will have one in-person lecture and one set of online activities as well as an assigned chapter. There will be 7 Moodle quizzes (worth 75% of the final grade combined) and a cumulative in-person final exam (worth 25%). Read the assigned chapter in the textbook Government in America (Election 2012 Edition) . Attend the lecture each week. Try the activities (videos and simulations) on MyPoliSciLab. Take the quizzes on Moodle which cover one or two chapters at a time. See the schedule. The final exam will be in class and cover the entire course. This syllabus contains the policies and expectations I have established for this course. Please read the entire syllabus carefully before continuing in this course. These policies and expectations are intended to create a productive learning atmosphere for all students. Text & Online Resources : We will use Pearson’s MyPoliSciLab and the associated textbook, Edward’s Government in America , Election 2012 Edition.
