I’m currently employed at a very busy animal hospital. The office manager of the hospitalsupervises an average of 60 employees. She is the only to go to person besides the person above her, which is the owner of the hospital. It is said that managers and leaders are two different things but in my current position the only sort of leadership is the manager. This could be the issue with the high turnover rate. Directive leadership can be defined as a type of leadership that involves only giving orders. Employees are given the guidelines for tasks and the standards for the job. The leadership that I’ve experienced in this particular organization is really a type of management, not a true leadership style, because the focus is on short-term tasks. It has serious

The structure of my current place of employment will be examined to better understand the relationship between the two.
